Is mushroom a parasitic organism or not?
The mushroom is not a parasitic organism. It shows the saprotrophic mode of nutrition.
The mode of nutrition in which organisms feed on the dead and decaying matter is known as the Saprophytic mode of nutrition. Mushroom depends on dead and decaying plants for food.
