Luminous means that which emits light. Sun is a luminous body, as it emits light of its own of which it is a source. Meanwhile,  Moon is not a luminous body thought it seems to emit light which of course is the reflected light of the Sun.

Some marine animals and fish in deep-sea and ocean waters show luminosity. They glow with light in the dark and semi-dark depths of the deep oceans.

However ordinary fish whether from ponds, rivers, or seas are non-luminous.
