In each of the two lines is perpendicular to the same line, what kind of lines are they to each other?

Given:

Each of the two lines is perpendicular to the same line.
To do:

We have to find the relation between the two lines.

Solution:

Let $m \perp l$ and $n \perp l$.

From the figure,

$\angle 1 = 90^o$ and $\angle 2 = 90^o$

$\angle 1$ and $\angle 2$ are corresponding angles.

This implies,

$m \parallel n$.

Therefore, the two lines are parallel to each other.
