In an electronic school bell the hammer strikes the gong and then the gong vibrates and produces sound so when the hammer strikes the gong does the hammer also vibrate ? If yes then does the hammer also produce any sound ?
The vibrations produced by a body depend on the shape of the body and material. Some materials vibrate for a longer time and produce more sound when hit. Some materials stop vibrating immediately and also don't produce much sound.
The gong in the school bell is designed to produce sound when struck. The hammer also produces sound but it will be very less when compared with the gong.
