In a sinusoidal wave, the time required for a particular point to move from maximum displacement to zero displacement is $0.1\ s$. Find the frequency of the wave.
Let $T$ be the time period.
Therefore, time required for a point to move from maximum displacement to zero displacement $=\frac{T}{4}$
Here, given that time the time required for a particular point to move from maximum displacement to zero displacement is $0.1\ s$.
Therefore, $\frac{T}{4}=0.1$
Or $T=0.1\times4=0.4$
As known, frequency $n=\frac{1}{T}$
Or $n=\frac{1}{0.4}$
Or $n=2.5\ Hz$
Thus, the frequency of the wave is $2.5\ Hz$.
