To find :
We have to find the total number of students present in each day and on which day the attendance is more.
Solution :
256 boys and 248 girls were present on Monday.
Total number of students present on Monday$ = 256+248 =504$
237 boys and 261 girls were present on Tuesday.
Total number of students present on Tuesday $= 237+261 =498$.
Total number of students present on Monday and Tuesday are 504 and 498.
The attendance was more on Monday.
