If turmeric does not change colour in neutral and acid. So how will we know a substance Is neutral or acidic?
Turmeric is a commonly used spice in Indian curries. It also acts as a natural indicator and used to check acidity and basicity. Turmeric persists its yellow colour in acid and neutral substances but turns bright red when reacted with bases.
Turmeric does not change colour in Neutral and Acidic solution because it is a basic indicator, so we can't use it to distinguish between acid and neutral. Other indicators like pH indicator can be used to distinguish between acid and neutral.
