If the selling price of 10 article is equal to cost price of 11 article, find the gain percent
Given :
The selling price of 10 articles is equal to the cost price of 11 articles.
To do :
We have to find the gain percent.
Solution :
Let the cost price of an article $= x$.
The cost price of 10 articles $= x \times 10 =10x$
The cost price of 11 articles $= x \times 11 =11x$
It is given that, selling price of 10 articles $=$ cost price of 11 articles.
Therefore, the selling price of 10 articles $= 11x$
Profit $=$ Selling price of 10 articles $-$ Cost price of 10 articles
$= 11x-10x = x$
Profit % $= \frac{Profit}{Cost\ price\ of\ 10\ articles} \times 100$
$= \frac{x}{10x} \times 100$
$=\frac{1}{10} \times 100$
$=10$%.
Therefore, the profit % is $10$%.
