If accidentally, we step naked foot on a sharp object at once we move our foot away. This response is known as Reflex action.
It is controlled in the following way :
- A- A receptor perceives the stimulus. A sensory or afferent nerve carries this message from receptor to spinal cord.
- B- The neurons of the spinal cord transmit the impulse from afferent neurons to efferent neurons.
- C - The motor nerve carries this message from the spinal cord to the muscles that show response.
