Given: If a tank is filled with$\frac{1}{3}$% of water and there are only 27 litres of water in the tank.
To do: What is the total capacity of the tank?
Answer:
$\frac{1}{3}$% = $\frac{1}{300}$ = 0.003333..
If $\frac{ 1}{300}$ is 27 litres
How much is 100% or 1 in litres?
$27 \times 1\frac1{1}{300} = 27 \times 300 = 8100$ litres
So the total capacity of the tank is 8100 litres.
