If 8.75 m of cloth costs ₹420, find the cost of one mere of the cloth. Also find the cost of 3.5 m of the same cloth.
Given :
Cost of 8.75 m of cloth $=$ ₹420
To find :
We have to find the cost of cloth of 1 m and 3.5 m.
Solution :
Cost of 8.75 m of cloth $=$ ₹420
Cost of 1 m of cloth $= \frac{420}{8.75} = 48$
Now,
Cost of 3.5 m of cloth $= 3.5 \times 48 = 168$.
Cost of 1 m cloth is ₹ 48.
Cost of 3.5 m cloth is ₹168
