How to simplify decimals?

We have to explain how to simplify decimals
Solution :
If it is about Addition or subtraction of decimals, then
To add decimals, follow these steps:
1. Write down the numbers, one under the other, with the decimal points lined up
2. Put in zeros wherever required, so that the numbers have the same length
3. Then add using column addition, remembering to put the decimal point in the answer
For example,
$24.2+12.23=$
24.20
$+12.23$

36.43

To multiply two or more decimal numbers, count the number of digits after the decimal points in the numbers to be multiplied.
Let the number of digits after the decimal points in the numbers be x.
Multiply the numbers normally.
In the final product place the decimal point before x digits from the right.
For example,
$20.4 \times 1.2=$
Number of digits after the decimal points=$1+1=2$
$204 \times 12 = 2448$
Therefore,
$20.4 \times 1.2 = 24.48$.
