How to multiply decimals?

To do :

We have to explain how to multiply decimals

Solution :

To multiply two or more decimal numbers, count the number of digits after the decimal points in the numbers to be multiplied.

Let the number of digits after the decimal points in the numbers be $x$.

Multiply the numbers normally.

In the final product place the decimal point before $x$ digits from the right.

For example,

$20.4 \times 1.2$

Number of digits after the decimal points=$1+1=2$

$204 \times 12 = 2448$

Therefore,

$20.4 \times 1.2 = 24.48$.
