How to make plastic?

Plastics are made from natural materials such as cellulose, coal, natural gas, salt and crude oil through a polymerisation or polycondensation process. Following steps are used to manufacture plastics-

Plastic extrusion: Plastic is heated and pushed through a heated chamber by a screw.

Moulding: Plastic is forced through a die that creates the final shape of the part.

Cooling: The extruded plastic is cooled.

Cut or spool: The continuous shape is spooled or cut into lengths.
