How to find the Successor and predecessor of a number?

Successor and predecessor:

• To find the predecessor of a number, subtract 1 from the given number.
• To find the successor of a number add 1 to the given number.

For example:

Find the predecessor and successor of 125678.

Predecessor $= 125678 - 1 = 125677$.

Successor $= 125678 + 1 = 125679$.
