How to draw a perpendicular bisector?

Steps to Construct a Perpendicular Bisector:

1. Draw a line segment AB.

2. Using a compass and any length more than half the length of AB mark an arc above and another arc below the line segment AB placing the compass at point A.

3. Using the same length of the compass and placing the compass at B mark arcs above and below the line segment AB that will intersect with the arcs drawn in step 2.

4. Join the two points where the arcs intersect with a straight line. This line is the perpendicular bisector of AB. X is the midpoint of AB.
