How to add mixed fractions in an easy way?

To add two or more mixed fractions which contain the same fraction part but different or same whole number part, add the whole numbers and represent the final answer alongside the fraction part.

For example,

$2\frac{1}{5}+7\frac{1}{5}$
$2+7=9$

Therefore,

$2\frac{1}{5}+7\frac{1}{5}=9\frac{1}{5}$

Two add mixed fractions with different fractional parts we have to convert them to improper fractions and then add them.

$2 \frac{1}{5} + 3 \frac{2}{5} = \frac{(2\times5+1)}{5} + \frac{(3\times5+2)}{5} = \frac{11}{5} + \frac{17}{5} = \frac{(11+17)}{5} = \frac{28}{5}$.
