How to add and subtract integers using number line?

Addition of integers using number line :

For addition, we move towards the right on the number line

Example:

$2 + 3 + 1 = 6$

First we move 2 units to right, then 3 units and finally 1 unit to land on 6.

So 6 is the sum of 2, 3 and 1

Integer or Number subtraction on Number line

For subtraction, we move towards left on the number line

Example:

$- 1 - 2 - 3 = -6$
