How much solar energy will be received by 1 m2 area in one hour if the solar constant be 1.4 kW/m2?
Given,
Solar constant = 1.4 kW/m2 = 1.4 kJ/s/m2 (converted kilowatt into kilojoule second)
Area = 1 m2
Time = 1 hour = 60 × 60 = 3600 s (converted hour into second)
Solution
According to the question, we know that-
Solar energy received by 1 m2 area in 1 s = 1.4 kJ
Then, Energy received by 1 m2 area in one hour = 3600 s × 1.4 kJ/s/m2 = 5040kJ/m2
$\left[3600s\times \frac{1.4kJ}{s{m}^{2}}=\frac{3600\times 1.4kJ}{{m}^{2}}=5040kJ/{m}^{2}\right]$
