How many systems of the human body have? Give examples of each other them. Define their importance.

An organ system is a biological system, consisting of a group of organs that came together to perform one or more definite functions.

The name of the Six Organ systems are as follows:

1. Nervous System. (Brain, Spinal Cord, Peripheral Nerves).

2. Skeletal System. (Cartilage, Bones, Joints).

3. Respiratory System. (Nassal Passage, Trachea, Lungs).

4. Reproductive System. (Epididymis, Testes, Ovaries, Mammary Glands, Uterus).

5. Digestive System. (Stomach, Liver, Gall Bladder, Small & Large Intestine).

6. Muscular System. (Skeletal Muscles, Tendons).

Functions:

The function of the nervous system is to coordinate or establish the communications system between the organs of our body. The nervous system also regulates all the other systems of the body to perform work together.

The skeletal system functions as the basic framework of a body and the entire body are built around the hard framework of the skeleton. It is the combination of all the bones and tissues associated with cartilages and joints.

Respiration is the process where a living organism produces energy with the intake of oxygen and release of carbon dioxide produced during the oxidation of complex organic substances.

The reproductive system involves itself in the reproduction process which is the biological process by which organisms give birth or give rise to a new organism.

The human digestive system comprises a group of organs that digest and convert food into energy for the body. The digestive system is made up of the gastrointestinal tract also known as the alimentary canal which includes the mouth, stomach, esophagus, small intestine, and large intestine.

The muscular system consists of skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles that allow movement of the body, maintain posture, and circulate blood throughout the body. It is composed of muscle fibers and their function is contractibility.

[Extra Information:

The skeletal system is composed of around 270 bones at birth - which become around 206 bones by adulthood after some bones get fused together.

\r

The skeletal system helps us in the following ways:\r

1. Supports and shapes the body.

2. Allows Movement.

3. Protect internal organs.

4. Stores and releases minerals & fat.

5. Produces blood cells.

There are two major types of respiration-

1. Aerobic respiration- The respiration process which takes place in the presence of oxygen is known as aerobic respiration. Glycolysis and Kreb's cycle are a part of aerobic respiration.

2. Anaerobic respiration- The respiration process which takes place in the absence of oxygen is known as anaerobic respiration. It usually occurs in the muscles during physical exercise.
