How many small cubes of side 2 cm can be put in a cubical box of side 4 cm?

Given:

Side of the cubical box$=4\ cm$.

Side of each small cube$=2\ cm$.

To do:

We have to find the number of small cubes that can be put in the cubical box.

Solution:

Volume of the cubical box$=(4)^3\ cm^3=64\ cm^3$.

Volume of each small cube$=(2)^3\ cm^3=8\ cm^3$.

Number of cubes that can be put$=\frac{Volume\ of\ cubical\ box}{Volume\ of\ each\ small\ cube}$

$=\frac{64}{8}$

$=8$
8 small cubes can be put in the given cubical box.
