How can a hydrated salt be converted into anhydrous salt? Give an example.

Anhydrous means without water. The anhydrous salt is only the cation and anion making up the salt.

All of the hydrated salts can have water removed by heating and the physical appearance of the dehydrate or anhydrous form of the salt can be quite different from that of the hydrated salt.

Example: CuSO4 .5H2O is a hydrated copper sulphate crystal and CuSO4  is anhydrous copper sulphate crystal.
