How are clouds formed?

Clouds are formed by the process given below:

  • Evaporation of water occurs through the surfaces of lakes, Rivers and Seas in the form of Water Vapour. Evaporation is the process by which water changes from a liquid to a gas or vapour. Evaporation is the primary pathway that water moves from the liquid state back into the water cycle as atmospheric water vapour.

  • Condensation of these water vapour forms clouds.

  • When the clouds get heavy, they pour down as rain (precipitation).
