How an alkali is different from the base?


Base

Bases are insoluble in water and used to neutralize the acid. They are bitter in taste and slippery in nature.

Example- Copper oxide, and Zinc hydroxide.

Alkali

Alkali is those bases that dissolve in water. All alkalis are bases, whereas all bases aren't alkali. It releases OH- ions.

Example- Sodium hydroxide, and Potassium hydroxide.
