Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden whose length is 4 m more than its width is 36 m. What are the dimensions of the garden?

Let the width of the garden = w

Therefore length  = w + 4

Perimeter of the garden = 2(length + bredth) = 2(w + 4 + w) = 2(2w + 4)

given that half of the perimeter = 36m

therefore, 2w + 4 = 36

=> 2w = 32

=> w = 16m.

Therefore, length = w + 4 = 20

length, bredth = 20,16
