Give reason for the following :
The force of gravitation between two cricket balls is extremely small but that between a cricket ball and the earth is extremely large.

The force of attraction between two objects is always directly proportional to their masses.

In the case of two cricket balls:

The cricket balls have very small masses, so the gravitational force between them is very small.

In the case of a cricket ball and the earth:

As the earth has a large mass, therefore gravitation force between a cricket ball and the earth is very large.
