$\frac{1}{3}$ is equivalent to $\frac{3}{9}$. True or False?


Given:


Given fractions are $\frac{1}{3}$ and $\frac{3}{9}$.


To Find  : 

$\frac{1}{3}$ is equivalent to $\frac{3}{9}$ or not.


Solution :

If two fractions are equivalent then the 


* Numerator of one fraction should be a multiple of the numerator of another

fraction.


* Denominator of one fraction should be a multiple of the denominator of another fraction.

In the given fractions,

3 is multiple of 1.  $3\times1=3$

9 is multiple of 3. $3\times3=9$

So,  $\frac{1}{3}$ is equivalent to $\frac{3}{9}$.

The answer is True.
