Number of students in the school = 494.

To find :

We have to find the number of teachers to be appointed.

Solution :

The ratio of students to teachers is $52:2=26:1$  Let the number of teachers to be appointed be x.

This implies,

$26:1 = 494:x$

$\frac{26}{1} = \frac{494}{x}$

$x = \frac{494}{26}$

$x = 19$

$\begin{array}{l}\frac{1}{30}=\frac{x}{4620}\\ \\ x=\frac{4620\times 1}{30}(Crossmultiplication)\\ \\ x=154\end{array}$

Therefore,

The number of teachers to be appointed is 19.
