Find the value of y : $\frac{y^2 + 1}{y^2 - 1} = \frac{5}{4}$

Given :

The given equation is $\frac{y^2 + 1}{y^2 - 1}  = \frac{5}{4}$

To find :

We have to find the value of y.

Solution :

$4 (y^2 + 1 ) = 5 (y^2 - 1)$

$4y^2 + 4 = 5y^2 - 5$

$5y^2 - 4y^2  = 4+5$

$y^2 = 9$

$y=3$.

The value of y is 3.
