                                      $ = (42790+27900) - 279  \times  10 + 279  \times  2 - 8558$

                                       $= (70690+558)-(2790+8558)$

                                       $= 71248-11348$

                                       $= 59900$.

Therefore, the value of $279 \times 92 + 8 \times 4279$ is 59900.
