Find the radius of a circle whose area is 616 sq. m.

Given:

Area of the circle$=616\ m^2$.

To do:

We have to find the radius of the circle.

Solution:

Let the radius of the given circle be $r$.

We know that,

Area of a circle of radius $r=\pi r^2$.

Therefore,

$\pi r^2=616\ m^2$

$\frac{22}{7}\times r\times r=616\ m^2$

$r^2=\frac{616\times7}{22}$

$r^2=28\times7$

$r^2=196$

$r=\sqrt{196}$

$r=16$

Radius of the circle $=16\ m$.

Radius of the circle is 16 m.
