Apples have to be arranged in the heaps of 12, 15, and 20.

To do :

We have to find the least number of apples that can be arranged as the heaps of 12, 15, 20. 
 

Solution :

The least common multiple of 12, 15, and 20 is the required least number of apple.

Multiples of 12 - 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96,.....

Multiples of 15 - 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105,....

Multiples of 20 - 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, .......

The least common multiple of 12, 15, 20 is 60.

Therefore, the required least number of apple is 60.
