Solution :

We know that,

Simple interest (SI) $= \frac{PTR}{100}$

where P is the principal, T is time and R is the rate of interest.

Therefore,

$SI = Rs. 8250\times 3\times \frac{8}{100}$

     $= Rs. 825\times 3\times \frac{8}{10}$

     $= Rs. 165\times 3\times \frac{8}{2}$

     $= Rs. 165\times 3\times 4$

     $= Rs. 165\times 12$

     $= Rs. 1980$

Interest on a sum of Rs. 8250 for 3 years at the rate of 8% per annum is Rs. 1980.
