Solution:

 Let the fraction be $\frac{x}{30}$

$\frac{x}{30}=\frac{120}{200}$

Multiply both sides by 100

$\frac{x}{30} \cdot 100=\frac{120}{200} \cdot 100$

Simplify
$\frac{10 x}{3}=60$

Multiply both sides by 3
$\frac{3 \cdot 10 x}{3}=60 \cdot 3$

Simplify
$10 x=180$

Divide both sides by 10
$\frac{10 x}{10}=\frac{180}{10}$

Simplify
$x=18$

So the equivalent fraction is $\frac{18}{30}$
