Find the circumference and area of circle with the radius 1.4 metres.

Given: The radius of circle, $r=1.4\ meter$

To do: To find the circumference and the area of the circle.

Solution:

Radius of the circle, $r=1.4\ m$

Circumference of the circle $=2\pi r$

                                             $=2\times\frac{22}{7}\times1.4$                   [$\because \pi=\frac{22}{7}$]

                                            $=8.8\ m$

Area of the circle $=\pi r^{2}$

                                $=\frac{22}{7}\times1.4\times1.4$

                                $=6.16\ m^{2}$

Thus, The circumference of the circle is $8.8\ m$ and the area of the circle is $6.16\ m^{2}$.
