Find the area of the following triangles."

Given:

In $\triangle PQR$, $PS=2\ cm$ and $QR=4\ cm$.
In $\triangle LMN$, $LO=2\ cm$ and $MN=3\ cm$.

To do:

We have to find the area of the triangles given.

Solution:

We know that,

Area of a triangle of height $h$ and base $b$ is $\frac{1}{2}bh$.

(i) In $\triangle PQR$, Height$=PS=2\ cm$ and Base$=QR=4\ cm$.

Area of triangle $PQR=\frac{1}{2}\times2\times4\ cm^2=4\ cm^2$.

(ii) In $\triangle LMN$, Height$=LO=2\ cm$ and Base$=MN=3\ cm$.

Area of triangle $LMN=\frac{1}{2}\times2\times3\ cm^2=3\ cm^2$.
