Find the area of sector of a circle of radius 5cm , if the corresponding arc length is 3.5cm.

Given:

Radius of the circle $=5\ cm$.

Length of the arc$=3.5\ cm$.

To do:

We have to find the area of the sector.

Solution:

The area of a sector of arc length $l$ and radius $r$ is $\frac{r \times l}{2}$.

Therefore,

The area of the given sector $=\frac{5\times3.5}{2}$

$=2.5\times3.5$

$=8.75\ cm^2$

The area of the sector is $8.75\ cm^2$.
