A)  71 and 73 

Factors of 71 = 1 , 71

Factors of 73 = 1 , 73

So, 71 and 73 are prime numbers.

Difference between the numbers is $73-71=2$.

B)   81 and 83

Factors of 81 = 1 , 3 , 9 , 27 , 81

81 has more than two factors. So, 81 is not a prime number.

C)  95 and 97

Factors of 95 = 1 , 5 , 19 , 95

95 has more than two factors. So, 95 is not a prime number.

D) 53 and 55

Factors 55 = 1 , 5 , 11 , 55

55 has more than two factors. So, 55 is not a prime number.

71 and 73 have exactly two factors. So, 71 and 73 are prime numbers.

73$-$71 = 2


The pair of prime numbers whose difference is 2 is 71 and 73.

Therefore, option (A) is correct.
