Few toffees were distributed among Ramesh, Suresh and Prakash. Ramesh got 3/8, Suresh got 1/ 2 and Prakash got 1/8 toffees of the total toffees .Who got the maximum toffees?

Given:  Ramesh got $\frac{3}{8}$, Suresh got $\frac{1}{ 2}$ and Prakash got $\frac{1}{8}$ toffees of the total toffees.

To find: Which fraction is highest?

Solution:

We have to compare the fractions $\frac{3}{8}$ ,  $\frac{1}{ 2}$, $\frac{1}{8}$

LCM of denominators is 8. We can convert all these fractions into denominators of 8.

We can convert $\frac{1}{ 2}$ = $\frac{1 \times 4}{ 2 \times 4}$ = $\frac{4}{ 8}$

Now our fractions are $\frac{3}{8}$ ,  $\frac{4}{ 8}$, $\frac{1}{8}$

We can see $\frac{4}{ 8}$ is highest as 4 is highest numerator.

So Suresh got the highest toffees
