Explain why bases are harmful because soap is also a base and we take bath from it then how it is harmful?
Bases that are present in Soaps are not strong Bases, so it is not harmful to us.
Strong bases dissolve in water to give a pH greater than 10 and can cause Chemical Burns.
Bases react strongly with water, and the reactions of several bases with water are exothermic, meaning they give off heat. Bases also react with oils on the skin and fatty tissue, which can lead to extensive damage to the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
