Explain the important components and working of an electric bulb?

Working of an electric bulb:

In an electric bulb, Tungsten is used as filament. When electricity is passed through the filament, it gets heated up because of its high resistance. The filament would reach a very high temperature and starts glowing. The melting point of tungsten is very high that it won't melt even a large quantity of electricity is passed. Thus a bulb glow.

Important Components of a bulb:

1) Filament: A filament is necessary for a bulb to glow. When a high current passed through the filament it gets heated and starts glowing.

2) Inert gas: The bulb inner is filled with an inert gas such as neon or argon, which slows down the evaporation of the filament.

3) Glass bulb: It protects the inner components such as fuse, filament, etc.
