Explain the greatest and the smallest comparing numbers.

Greatest And The Smallest Comparison

For comparing numbers we follow the rules given below.

Rule I: We know that a number with more digits is always greater than the number with less number of digits.

Rule II: When the two numbers have the same number of digits, we start comparing the digits from leftmost place until we come across unequal digits.

After comparing numbers we arrange them in an ascending or descending order.

If it is arranged in the increasing order, the number on the extreme left is the smallest one and the number on the extreme right is the largest number

Example:  5, 11, 3, 19, 21, 33, 25

arranging in increasing order

3 < 5 < 11 < 19 < 21  < 25 < 33

3 is smallest and 33 is largest number
