Explain histogram.

A histogram is an accurate representation of the distribution of grouped, numerical data.

In a histogram,

  • There is no space between the bars to accurately represent the continuity of the data.
  • It is evident from the above histogram that the continuous class limits are marked horizontally and the frequencies are marked vertically.
  • A jagged line between 0 and 9 indicates that the age groups between 0 and 9 are not being represented. This jagged line is used to indicate a break or jump in the data. It is called a kink.
