Expand the following:$(2m - 5)^3$


Given:

The given expression is $(2m-5)^3$.

To do :

We have to expand the given expression.

Solution :

 

We know that,

$(a-b)^3 = a^3-b^3-3a^2b+3ab^2$

 

Therefore,

 $(2m-5)^3 = (2m)^3-(5)^3-3(2m)^2(5)+3(2m)(5)^2$

 

                $= 8m^3-125-15(4m^2)+6m(25)$

               $ = 8m^3 -125 - 60m^2 + 150m$

                

                $=  8m^3-60m^2+150m-125$.

The expansion of  $(2m-5)^3$ is $8m^3-60m^2+150m-125$.
