Except for plants, why can't other living organisms prepare their food using CO2, water and minerals?

Other living organisms can't prepare their food because they can't do photosynthesis.

They can have, sunlight, carbon dioxide, water, minerals, for photosynthesis but they don't have chlorophyll which is the key thing for photosynthesis.
