$(i)$ The cube can cast a shadow in the shape of a rectangle.

To do: To check if the given statements are true or false.
Solution:
We know that a cube casts a shadow in a square shape when the light is coming directly and it can form a rectangular shape when the light is coming diagonally.
Statement: "$(i)$ The cube can cast a shadow in the shape of a rectangle." this is true as any cubical shape like dice or matchbox can form a shadow in a rectangular shape.
Statement: "$(ii)$ The cube can cast a shadow in the shape of a hexagon." this is a false statement as a hexagon has 6 sides while a cubical-shaped object can form a shadow of 4 sides only.
