Evaluate:
(a) $ \left(8^{0}+5^{-1}\right) \times\left(\frac{1}{5}\right)^{-2} $
Given:
\( \left(8^{0}+5^{-1}\right) \times\left(\frac{1}{5}\right)^{-2} \)
To do:
We have to simplify the given expression.
Solution:
$(8^0+5^{-1})\times(\frac{1}{5})^{-2}=(1+\frac{1}{5})\times(5)^2$ ($a^0=1, (\frac{a}{b})^{-k}=(\frac{b}{a})^k$)
$=(\frac{1\times5+1}{5})\times25$
$=(\frac{6}{5})\times25$
$=6\times5$
$=30$
Therefore,
$(8^0+5^{-1})\times(\frac{1}{5})^{-2}=(1+\frac{1}{5})\times(5)^2=30$.
