Do sheep give us milk?

Female sheep (also known as ewe) do produce milk but not constantly. The lactation period of sheep depends upon the breed of sheep.

Usually, sheep produce milk during the 80–100 days after lambing. Meat and wool breeds of sheep lactate for 90–150 days, while dairy breeds can lactate for 120–240 days. Dairy sheep can produce higher yields of milk per sheep (ewe) per year.
