Do nuclear reactor cause radiation, and harm to human?

Yes, Nuclear reactors are significant sources of radiation, especially neutron radiation.

Radiation has very detrimental and adverse effects on human beings. Being exposed to high amounts of radiation for an extended period of time will cause humans to experience radiation sickness.

It can directly kill cells, or it can cause mutations to DNA, and if these mutations are not repaired, the cell may turn cancerous.

It can also cause thyroid cancer as the radioactive iodine is absorbed by the thyroid gland.
