Solution:
Let monthly income be $x$.
Then, savings$=20$ % of $x=\frac{20}{100}\times x=\frac{x}{5}$
Monthly income$=$Expenditure$+$Saving
$\Rightarrow x=4800+\frac{x}{5}$
$\Rightarrow x-\frac{x}{5}=4800$
$\Rightarrow \frac{4x}{5}=4800$
$\Rightarrow x=4800\times\frac{5}{4}$
$\Rightarrow x=6000$
Therefore, his monthly income is $₹\ 6000$.
